While I was traveling with my shaykh.I had a doubt in my heart that the rich are bestowed by Allah and why do the sufiyah have the habits of misery and simplicity.As this was going on in my heart.
The conversation so happened that shaykh started explaining speaking about rich people.He explained, we see men here building big houses with marbles and colors.But we have no concern about our permanent house.The house that is in the hereafter which is going to be the house where we will be living hereafter.He goes on explaining the hadith of Syedinna Ayesha bin abu bakr siddiqi radiallah anhu once told to her messenger to pass on the hadith to a rich sahabah who came with his camels full of gold.To pass the hadith of syedinna rasulallah salellahualaihiwasalam that the last people to enter jannah will be the richest ones.On hearing this the sahabahi who was a rich merchant.He left his camels and said that whoever needs gold can have it.And this gold was left there for months and nobody dared to pick it up.
Al-Haakim reported from
'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,
"Do you know who will be the first of my ummah to enter
Paradise?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best". He said,
"The poor of the Muhajireen. They will come to the gate of Paradise
on the Day of Resurrection and ask for it to be opened. The
gatekeepers will say to them, "Have you been brought to account?"
They will say, "What do we need to be brought to account for? We
were carrying our swords and fighting for the sake of Allah (swt)
until we died." Then the gates will be opened for them and they will
stay there for forty years before anyone else enters".
(Silsilah al-Hadith as-Saheehah, 2/532, no. 853, al-Haakim
said it is sahih according to the conditions of al-Bukhaari and
Muslim).
